Flutter Bird

Flap through the gaps between trees and cloud pillars

Pass as many gaps as you can

The chick flies forward on its own. Every gap you pass is one point, and touching a pillar or the ground ends the run.

How do you play Flutter Bird?

Press to flap and rise, let go to fall, and guide the chick through as many gaps between the upper and lower pillars as you can without touching them. It is a one button bird game that plays like Flappy Bird, with a chick and pillars drawn from scratch by ormgames.

The chick flies to the right by itself. Fluffy cloud pillars hang from above and pastel tree trunks grow from below. Each gap is worth one point, and a single bump against a pillar or the ground ends the run.

What changes between the levels?

LevelGap sizeSpeed
EasyWidestSlow
NormalMediumMedium
HardNarrowestFast

On every level the game speeds up a little and the gaps shrink a little every 10 points, up to a fixed limit. The height difference between two neighboring gaps is always small enough to reach with your wings. Every 25 points the sky turns from day to sunset, night and dawn.

What score do you need for each medal?

Tips for a high score

  1. Aim a little below the middle of the gap. A flap lifts you, so waiting low is safer.
  2. Use short taps. Several quick presses in a row send you into the top pillar.
  3. Look at the next gap early. As you leave one gap, start rising or dropping toward the next.
  4. Find the rhythm. Tapping at a steady pace keeps the chick almost level.

Physics runs at a fixed 60 steps per second, so the chick feels the same on any screen refresh rate, computer or phone. Your best score for each level is saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flutter Bird free?

Yes. Play it free right on this page with no download or sign up, on computers, phones and tablets.

Is it the same as Flappy Bird?

It plays like Flappy Bird: tap to flap, let go to fall, and fly between pillars with one button. The chick, the tree and cloud pillars and the sounds are all made by ormgames, and it adds three levels and a changing sky.

What happens if I hold the button?

While you hold it, the chick keeps flapping at a steady beat and climbs. Let go and it starts to fall. Single taps work too.

Can a gap ever be impossible to pass?

No. The height difference between two neighboring gaps is limited to what the chick can climb or drop while flying between them, even at the fastest speed and narrowest gap.

What score do I need for a medal?

Bronze at 10, silver at 20, gold at 40 and platinum at 80 points. The same targets apply on all three levels.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Tap anywhere on the screen to flap. The board is tall, so it plays well with the phone held upright.

Are my scores saved?

Your best score on Easy, Normal and Hard is saved separately in this browser.
