What is Bubble Dino?
A single screen arcade game where you play a green dinosaur that blows bubbles to trap monsters and pops them by bumping into them. Clear all the monsters on the screen to move on, just like the classic bubble arcade games.
Popped monsters fly off and turn into fruit where they land. Grab the fruit for extra points. There are 12 stages, then a faster second loop begins.
How do the bubbles work?
A bubble only traps monsters while it is shooting forward. After that it slowly floats up and gathers near the ceiling.
- Trapped bubbles: green outline. When one turns red and shakes, the monster is about to break out angry, red and faster.
- Chain pops: bubbles that touch each other all pop together.
- Bubble bouncing: hold jump while landing on a bubble to bounce off it instead of popping it. Great for climbing.
- Floor hole: fall through the hole in the floor and you drop back in from the ceiling. Monsters do too.
How does scoring work?
Each extra monster in one pop doubles the points. You get an extra life every 50,000 points.
| Monsters in one pop | Points |
|---|---|
| 1st | 1,000 |
| 2nd | 2,000 |
| 3rd | 4,000 |
| 4th and more | 8,000 each |
| Fruit | 100 (cherry) up to 2,000 (gem) |
What monsters are there?
- Windup (blue): walks along platforms and jumps up when you are above it.
- Hopper (pink): never stops bouncing, so it is harder to hit.
- Flyer (purple): flies diagonally through platforms and bounces off walls.
- Ghost: stay too long and after HURRY UP a ghost drifts through walls after you. It cannot be trapped.
Tips
- Shoot from the same height. Bubbles only travel a few tiles before floating up, so get close.
- Pop trapped bubbles together. A chain at the ceiling doubles your points and drops better fruit.
- Use bubbles as stairs. Blow bubbles against a wall, then hold jump and bounce up.
- Pop the red, shaking bubbles first. Escaped monsters are much faster.
