How do you play Fruit Slice?
Fruit flies up from the bottom of the screen. Drag the mouse or swipe a finger across it to cut it in half and score. It plays like Fruit Ninja, with a glowing blade trail, and the black bombs must never be sliced.
Nine kinds of clay fruit show up: watermelon, apple, tangerine, banana, peach, kiwi, pineapple, strawberry and lemon. Each one splits into two halves along the line you swiped, showing the flesh and seeds, and leaves a quick juice splash on the board. As the levels go up, more fruit comes at once and it flies faster.
What is the difference between Classic and 1 minute mode?
| Mode | Game ends when | Slicing a bomb |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | you drop 3 fruits | ends the game |
| 1 minute | 60 seconds run out | costs 10 points, play goes on |
In Classic, bombs, ice fruit and golden fruit never count as drops. In 1 minute mode drops do not matter, but fruit and bombs come much more often.
How does scoring work?
- Fruit: 1 point each.
- Combo: slice 3 or more in one swipe without lifting and you get a bonus equal to the number sliced. Four at once is 4 points plus a 4 point combo, 8 in total.
- Ice fruit: slows every fruit and bomb for 4 seconds.
- Golden fruit: does not split right away. Each swipe scores 1 point, and after 8 swipes it splits for 3 more.
- Bomb: ends a Classic game, or takes away 10 points in 1 minute mode (never below zero).
Tips for a high score
- Swipe at the top of the arc. Fruit moves slowest at its highest point, so it is easy to line up several.
- Make one long swipe. A combo only counts while your finger or button stays down.
- Curve around bombs. Swing your blade around them, or wait until they fall away.
- Scrub golden fruit. Short quick swipes back and forth reach 8 hits fast.
- Slice ice fruit first. Those 4 slow seconds are the best time to clear the screen.
Even a very fast swipe is checked along its whole path, so it never skips over a fruit. Best scores for Classic and 1 minute mode are saved separately in this browser.
