How do you play Whack a Mole?
Moles pop out of nine holes one after another. Hit a mole before it hides to score. A round starts at 30 seconds and grows up to 60 as golden moles and combos add time.
On a computer the mouse becomes the hammer. On phones and tablets just tap the mole. As time goes on, moles come out faster, more at once, and hide sooner.
What kinds of moles are there?
Pink, blue, yellow, mint, purple and orange clay moles, plus helmet moles, golden moles with a crown, and bombs you should never hit.
| What | Points | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Colorful mole | 10 | One hit |
| Helmet mole | 20 | First hit knocks the helmet off, second hit scores (Normal and Hard) |
| Golden mole | 50 | +3 seconds, hides quickly |
| Bomb | 0 | -3 seconds and your combo resets |
How does the combo multiplier work?
Every 5 moles in a row without a miss raises your multiplier by 1, up to x5. Hitting an empty spot, letting a mole escape or hitting a bomb resets it. Every 10 in a row also adds 2 seconds.
What is the difference between the levels?
- Easy: moles stay up longer, 2 to 3 at a time, no helmet moles.
- Normal: shorter stays, up to 4 at a time, helmet moles appear.
- Hard: moles vanish in a blink, up to 5 at a time, and more bombs.
Tips for a high score
- Don't swing wildly. A miss resets your multiplier to x1. Only hit moles you can clearly see.
- Golden moles first. 50 points times your multiplier, plus extra time. They hide fast, so hit them at once.
- Spot bombs by the spark. A dark body with a sparking fuse is a bomb. Losing 3 seconds costs you several moles.
- Watch the middle. Keep your eyes on the center hole and all nine holes stay in view.
