How do you play 1to50?
1to50 is a speed game where you tap the numbers on a 5×5 grid in order from 1 to 50 and race the clock. The grid starts with 1 to 25 in random spots, and every correct tap reveals a new number from 26 to 50 in that tile.
The clock starts when you tap 1 and stops when you tap 50, timed to a hundredth of a second. The yellow circle at the top shows the number you need next, but never where it is. Finding it is the whole game.
What modes and rules are there?
| Mode | Order | Grid |
|---|---|---|
| 1to25 Easy | 1 → 25 | One layer. Tapped tiles go blank |
| 1to50 Classic | 1 → 50 | Two layers. 26 to 50 replace 1 to 25 |
| 1to100 Hard | 1 → 100 | Four layers, turning yellow, pink, green, then blue |
| 50to1 Reverse | 50 → 1 | Two layers. Count down from 50 to 26, then 25 to 1 appear |
- Wrong taps: as in the original game, the tile just shakes and no time is added.
- Penalty option: switch on "Wrong tap +0.5s" on the start screen to add half a second for every miss.
- Daily board: everyone gets the same 1to50 layout for the whole day.
How do I get faster?
- Look for the next number while you tap the current one. Your eyes should always be one step ahead of your finger.
- Take in the whole grid at once. A wide glance spots numbers faster than reading row by row.
- Use two thumbs on a phone. Split the grid into a left and a right half so each hand travels less.
- Let the colors help. Late in 1to50, the last yellow tiles hold small numbers and the pink tiles hold big ones, so color tells them apart.
What are the controls?
Click with a mouse on a computer, or tap with your fingers on a phone or tablet. Tiles respond the moment you touch them, not when you lift your finger, and zooming is blocked so rapid taps never get lost. On a keyboard, R restarts and Esc goes back to the menu.
Your 10 fastest times for each mode are saved in this browser with the date. Open them with the 🏆 Records button on the start screen.
