How do you play Parking Escape?

The 6x6 lot is jammed with cars. Slide them back and forth to clear a lane, then drive the red car out the exit on the right to win. Cars cannot turn or be lifted out. They only move in the direction they face.

There are 183 levels across four difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert. Every level shows the fewest moves it can be solved in.

How do the cars move?

Horizontal carsSlide left and right only.
Vertical carsSlide up and down only.
Cars and trucksCars take two spaces, trucks take three. Long trucks are what make a lot hard.
One moveSliding one vehicle any number of free spaces counts as one move. Pushing the same car again right away still counts as one.
EscapeThe level is cleared when the red car reaches the exit in the right wall.

How do you earn three stars?

Match the fewest possible moves for three stars, stay within one and a half times that number for two, and any escape earns one. The minimum was found by a breadth first search over every position, so nobody can beat it.

Tips

  1. Start with the red car's row. Find out exactly which vehicles stand between it and the exit.
  2. Work backwards. Ask where a blocker needs to go, then what is blocking that spot, and so on.
  3. Park trucks at the ends. A vertical truck is three spaces long, so it often has to go all the way to the top or bottom to free the middle row.
  4. Use undo and hints. Undo is unlimited, and a hint shows the next move on the fastest way out from where you are.

Clearing a level unlocks the next one, and the first three of every difficulty are open from the start. Your best move count and stars for each level are saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is Parking Escape free?

Yes. It is free to play right on this page with no sign up, on computers, phones and tablets.

Is it like Rush Hour?

Yes. It is the same kind of sliding block puzzle as Rush Hour and Unblock Me: slide cars on a 6x6 grid to free the red one. The levels and the cars were made from scratch by ormgames.

How many levels are there?

183 in total: 45 Easy, 45 Medium, 45 Hard and 48 Expert. Every level was solved by computer to confirm the fewest possible moves.

Can every level be solved?

Yes, there are no impossible levels. If you get stuck, undo or restart, and press Hint if you still need help.

How does the hint work?

Hint works out the fastest way out from your current position and shows a faint ghost of the next car to slide and where it goes. Using hints does not cost you stars.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. Press Tab or Space to pick a car and the arrow keys to slide it one space at a time. An arrow across the car's direction picks the nearest car that way. Ctrl+Z undoes, R restarts and H shows a hint.

Is my progress saved?

Your best move count and stars for every level are saved in this browser, and Continue picks up from the last level you played.
