How do you play Pipes?
Every tile holds a piece of pipe. Tap tiles to turn them 90 degrees until the water tank in the middle and every tile join up into one network. It is the rotation puzzle many people know as Net, NetWalk or simply the pipe puzzle.
Pipes that carry water fill up blue, and the flower pots at the ends burst into bloom. A pipe end that points at a wall or a dry side drips, so you can spot leaks right away.
What counts as solved?
| Everything connected | Water has to reach every tile on the board. |
|---|---|
| No leaks | Every pipe end must meet a pipe end on the next tile. A single end pointing off the board or into a blank side means you are not done yet. |
| No loops | The water may never flow around in a circle back to where it started. |
| Any valid answer | Your layout does not have to match the original one. If it follows the three rules above, you win. |
| Wrap mode | In the hard mode the top edge joins the bottom and the left edge joins the right. |
Which board sizes can I play?
Pick any size from 5×5 up to 12×12 on the start screen. Each board is generated at random and every tile starts at a random angle, so you will almost never see the same puzzle twice. The daily puzzle is one 9×9 board shared by everyone.
Tips for solving faster
- Start with edges and corners. Pipes cannot point at the wall, so those tiles have very few options.
- Lock tiles you are sure about. A long press or right click keeps them from turning by accident.
- Never point two flower pots at each other. They would form a tiny island cut off from the rest.
- Straight pipes only have two positions. Decide across or down and move on.
- Wrap mode has no walls. The edge trick stops working, so look for the choice that avoids a loop.
Your best time and fewest turns are saved in this browser for each size, with and without wrap. Every board is guaranteed to be solvable.
