How do you play Spot the Difference?
Compare two almost identical pictures and tap all 5 to 7 places where they differ. Each find gets a pink circle on both pictures and fills one dot in the row at the top.
Every picture is built fresh from one of eight scenes (kitchen, park, beach, classroom, bedroom, market, forest and playground) with fruit, toys and animals placed at random, so you never run out of new puzzles. On a phone held upright, the two pictures stack on top of each other.
What kinds of differences are there?
- Missing: an object that only appears in one picture.
- Extra: a new object in an empty spot of one picture.
- Color: the same object in a clearly different color.
- Size: an object that is much bigger or smaller.
- Flipped: something lopsided, like a mug handle, a tail or clock hands, mirrored left to right.
What are the game modes?
| Mode | Rules | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Relaxed | One picture at a time with no limit. A wrong tap adds 5 seconds to your time. | Fastest time |
| Time attack | Start with 90 seconds and earn 30 more for each finished picture. A wrong tap takes 5 seconds off the clock. | Most pictures |
| Daily picture | The same picture for everyone each day, played with the Relaxed rules. | Your time today |
Tips for finding them faster
- Scan in sections. Work from the top left and compare one patch at a time so nothing slips by.
- Count the objects. Missing and extra objects show up right away when the totals do not match.
- Check which way things face. Mug handles, tails and clock hands give away flipped objects.
- Do not spam taps. Every miss costs 5 seconds, and taps are ignored for a moment afterwards.
A hint draws a shrinking yellow ring around one difference you have not found yet. You get 3 hints per picture, and your best records are saved in this browser.
