How do you play Sky Hopper?
Your squishy jelly hero bounces automatically every time it lands on a platform, so all you do is steer left and right to keep landing higher. There is no jump button.
Your score is the height you reach in meters, and the run ends when you drop off the bottom of the screen. Go off the right edge and you come back on the left, so the platform on the other side is often closer than it looks.
What kinds of platforms are there?
| Platform | Looks like | When you land |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Green | You bounce. Use it as often as you like. |
| Moving | Blue with an arrow | Slides side to side. Read where it will be and follow it. |
| Breaking | Brown with a crack | Snaps in half and you do not bounce. Not a real step. |
| One time | Pink with three dots | One bounce, then it disappears. |
| Spring | Yellow with a coil | Launches you far higher than a normal bounce. |
| Balloon | Pink balloon | Grab it and float straight up for 2 seconds. |
What happens if you hit a grumpy cloud?
Bump a purple grumpy cloud from the side or from below and you fall, but land on top of it and it pops and bounces you up again. While you float with a balloon you fly right through clouds.
- Clouds start at around 200 m.
- The route always stays open. A cloud only appears where it does not block the short path between the platforms around it.
- Higher up platforms get narrower and farther apart, with more moving and one time platforms.
Tips for a higher score
- Pick your next platform on the way up. Steering before the top of the jump leaves time to line up the landing.
- Use the wraparound. Crossing the edge brings you out on the other side, so take the shorter way.
- Do not trust brown platforms. They break, so only use them if there is something below to catch you.
- Never skip springs and balloons. They jump you several floors at once.
- Tilt gently. About 20 degrees is already full speed.
The gap between platforms you can bounce on is always kept within 80% of your highest jump, so a run is never cut off by bad luck. Your best height is saved in this browser.
