How do you play Quick Math?

Solve each problem in your head, without paper, and type the answer on the number pad. The moment you enter as many digits as the answer has, it is checked and the next problem appears. Get several right in a row to build a combo.

At the end you see your accuracy, average time per problem and best combo, plus every problem you missed with its answer. The numbers are big and clear so kids can play too.

What modes are there?

ModeHow it works
60 Second SprintPick any mix of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, choose level 1 to 3, and see how many you can get in 60 seconds.
Times TablesPick a table from 2 to 9 and answer its 9 facts. A missed fact comes back a few problems later. Mixed mode asks 20 facts from all tables and brings up the ones you often miss more often.
True or FalseSee an equation with an answer, like "7 × 8 = 54", and hit O if it is right or X if it is wrong, as fast as you can for 60 seconds.
Survival StreakOne wrong answer or running out of time ends the run. The problems get harder and the clock gets shorter as you go.
Daily 20Everyone gets the same 20 problems each day. The first 10 use one digit numbers, the last 10 use two digit numbers.

How big do the numbers get?

Level 1 is mostly one digit, level 2 two digits and level 3 three digits. Subtraction never goes below zero, and division problems always come out even.

How can I do mental math faster?

  1. Make a ten. For 8 + 7, add 2 to get 10, then add the remaining 5 for 15.
  2. Start with the big place values. For 47 + 38, add 40 + 30 = 70 and 7 + 8 = 15, then combine them to get 85.
  3. Turn subtraction into adding up. For 83 - 29, count how far it is from 29 up to 83: 54.
  4. Turn division into a times table. For 56 ÷ 8, ask "8 times what is 56?" The answer is 7.
  5. Replay what you missed. Retry missed on the results screen repeats only the problems you got wrong until you get them all.

Nothing is sent to a server. Your best results for each mode and level are saved in this browser, along with the times table facts you miss most often.

Frequently asked questions

Is Quick Math free?

Yes. Play it free right on this page with no download or sign up, on computers, phones and tablets.

Do I have to press OK after every answer?

No. Once you type as many digits as the answer has, it is checked automatically and the next problem appears. You can still press OK or Enter to check early.

Is it good for kids?

Yes. Level 1 uses one digit addition and subtraction and times table multiplication and division, so young children can play. Subtraction never goes negative and division always comes out even.

What happens when I miss a times table fact?

You see the right answer, and the same fact comes back a few problems later. The round ends only when you get every fact right. Facts you often miss are remembered in this browser and show up more often in mixed mode.

How does Survival Streak end?

It ends the first time you miss a problem or run out of time. You start with 7 seconds per problem, and as your streak grows the problems get harder and the time slowly shrinks.

When does the Daily 20 change?

It changes at midnight Korea time. Everyone gets the same 20 problems that day, so you can compare scores and times with friends.

What does Share result do?

It makes a result card and a link with your score and accuracy to send to friends. If you share a 60 Second Sprint result, your friend gets exactly the same problems in the same order. Nothing is stored on a server.
