What is Forest Postman?

Forest Postman is a top down exploration story game where you play Bori, a young raccoon postman, delivering 14 letters and parcels to nine animal villagers. There is no fighting and no timer. You walk around, chat with neighbors and solve a few small mysteries.

The map is a tile based village in the spirit of classic role playing games. You start at the post office and follow paths to the riverside, the lakeshore, Mushroom Hill and an old lighthouse on the north shore. Taking your time, one full playthrough lasts about 15 minutes.

How do deliveries work?

TaskHow
Get the bagTalk to Postmaster Hoot outside the post office to receive a bag with eight letters.
DeliverTalk to the right villager and the mail is handed over. Anyone you have mail for shows an envelope bubble.
ParcelsVillagers often ask you to carry something on to a friend, like a honey bun, sheet music or a cookbook.
Mystery mailSomeone moved away, and some envelopes only carry a nickname or a description. Ask around to find out who they are for.
Blocked pathsA broken bridge and a wall of brambles open up once you help the villagers.

Your notebook lists every piece of mail you still carry, and its little map marks each destination with a pink dot.

What should I do if I get stuck?

  1. Open the notebook first. When a villager gives you a clue, the name and location of the recipient update there.
  2. The three planks are scattered around the woods. Check the end of the west woods path, behind the post office and the west shore of the lake. Tap a sparkling plank to pick it up.
  3. Ask about strange addresses. If you do not know who a letter is for, nearby villagers usually have a hint.
  4. Follow the bubbles. An envelope means you have mail for that villager, and an exclamation mark means they have something to tell you.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. On a phone, use the on screen direction pad and the A button to walk and talk. You can also tap any spot or villager and Bori walks there on his own, then starts talking when he arrives. It works in portrait too.

Your progress is saved automatically in this browser so you can continue later. To start over, press New game twice on the title screen.

Frequently asked questions

Is Forest Postman free?

Yes. Play it free right on this page with no download or sign up, on computers, phones and tablets.

Is there any fighting?

No. There is no combat and no timer. It is a gentle exploration story that kids can enjoy too.

How long does it take to finish?

The story ends once you deliver all 14 letters and parcels to nine villagers. Taking your time, that is about 15 minutes.

How do I cross the broken bridge?

Grandpa Bear by the river needs three planks and one rope. The planks are lying around the woods, and Captain Quack at the lake gives you rope after you deliver his letter.

Rosie's house is empty. Where did she go?

Read the note pinned to her door. It says where she moved.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. The game saves every few seconds while you walk and after every conversation, so you can pick up where you left off in this browser.

What happens at the end?

Deliver the last parcel and head back to the post office, and every villager has written a letter to you. You can keep exploring the village afterward.
