What kind of game is Burger Stack?
Burger Stack is a casual game where you slide a plate left and right to catch ingredients falling from above and stack them in the order written on the ticket at the top left. Catching is only half of it: where you catch each ingredient decides how the tower leans, so balance is part of the game.
Patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, egg, pickles, sauce and top buns pop out of the stainless chute at the top one at a time and drop. Your plate already holds the bottom bun, and every correct catch lands on top with a soft thud. Patties and bacon sizzle. The thick 2.5D ingredients with melting cheese and rippling lettuce, the bright diner counter and the checkered wrapper are all drawn in code.
Why does the tower lean and when does it fall?
Catch an ingredient near the edge of the plate instead of the center and the weight shifts that way, tilting the tower. The taller the stack, the more a small shift matters, and sudden plate moves or stops shake it too. When the gauge under the plate reaches the red end, the whole thing collapses.
A collapse throws every layer off the plate, costs 5 points per layer and sends that order back to the first patty. The fix is simple: catch the next ingredient on the opposite edge from the lean and the balance comes back. The gauge turns from green to yellow to red, and an exclamation mark appears when you are close to the limit.
How do points and penalties work?
| What falls | When caught | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Next ingredient on the ticket | 8 to 12 points | Stacks on the tower. A dead center catch (within 10 px) is worth 1.5 times |
| Top bun (when the ticket is complete) | 20 points + bonus | Bonus is 30 points plus 12 per ingredient, plus 40 more if the order had no mistakes and no collapse |
| Ingredient not on the ticket, or not next in line | -10 | Bounces off, shakes the tower and resets the combo |
| Bug | -20 | Shakes the tower hard and slows the plate for a moment |
| Flame | -15 | Burns the top layer away, so you must catch that ingredient again |
| Collapse | -5 per layer | Every layer flies off and the order starts over |
Correct catches in a row build a combo. Every 3 combo adds 0.25 to the multiplier, so from 12 combo on every ingredient is worth double. A wrong ingredient, a bug, a flame or letting a needed ingredient hit the counter resets the combo to zero.
How do the orders change?
The first order is short, something like patty and cheese, and each completed order makes the next one longer, up to nine ingredients. Every order starts with a patty, and long orders sometimes ask for two.
Read the ticket from the bottom up. The bottom bun is already on the plate so it is checked off, and the red arrow points to the ingredient you need right now. Caught ingredients turn into green check marks. When the list is full the arrow points to the top bun, and the moment you catch it the burger is wrapped in checkered paper and handed to the customer with a speech bubble. An order with no mistakes shows a perfect mark and adds 40 bonus points.
What modes are there?
- 60 Seconds: the basic mode. Score as much as you can in 60 seconds while ingredients drop faster and more often.
- 10 Orders: the game ends when you complete ten orders. There is no time limit, and your time is shown on the result screen. Needed ingredients appear a little more often, but orders grow long quickly.
- Two Players: the screen splits in half and each player has a plate and a ticket. Both halves get the same ingredients in the same spots, and needed ingredients alternate between the two tickets. The higher score after 60 seconds wins.
How do I get a high score?
- Read the ticket before you chase anything. About half of what falls is not on your order. Catch only what the arrow points to and let the rest fall past the plate.
- Center catches pay 1.5 times. Each ingredient pauses for a moment as it leaves the chute, so move under it early and it lands in the middle.
- Catch on the opposite edge to fix a lean. When the gauge turns yellow, take the next ingredient deliberately on the far side.
- Do not whip the plate around. A tall tower shakes more with every sudden start and stop. Move early and smoothly once the stack is high.
- Flames hurt most on a tall tower. Losing the top layer means catching it again, so near the end of a long order dodge flames first.
What ranks can I get?
Your score earns one of six ranks: Kitchen Trainee, Line Cook, Burger Cook, Patty Artisan, Burger Master and Legendary Chef. Pass 1,500 points for Legendary Chef.
The result screen also shows orders completed, best combo, collapses and perfect orders. 10 Orders adds your time. Tap Share result to turn your score into a picture card for friends.
