How do you play One Card?
One Card is a Korean shedding game much like Crazy Eights: play a card that matches the top card by suit or number, and the first player to get rid of every card wins. If you have nothing to play, draw one card and your turn ends.
Everyone starts with 7 cards (5 with the setting on) and one card is turned up from the deck. Play passes from you to the computer at the top left. When you are down to one card, hit One Card! before anyone else does, or you get caught and draw a card.
What are the ormgames house rules?
One Card rules change from group to group. ormgames uses the table below as the default, and you can switch each rule on or off on the start screen.
| Card | Effect |
|---|---|
| A | Attack, the next player takes 3. The Ace of spades makes it 5 (setting) |
| 2 | Attack, the next player takes 2 |
| Black joker | Attack 5. Can be played on any card |
| Color joker | Attack 7. The strongest card, nothing can pass it on |
| 7 | You choose the next suit |
| J | Skips the next player |
| Q | Reverses the direction of play (no effect with 2 players) |
| K | You go again |
| One card left | Call One Card. If someone else calls it first, draw 1 |
| 21 cards or more | Bust. You are out of the round and finish last |
How do you block an attack?
When you are attacked, you can pass it on with an attack card of the same number, or one of the same suit that is at least as strong. Every pass adds to the total.
- Against a 2: any other 2, the Ace of the same suit, or a joker. With "3 blocks 2" on, a 3 of the same suit cancels the attack.
- Against an Ace: any other Ace or a joker. A weaker 2 can't go on an Ace, and a 5 card Ace of spades attack can only be passed on with a joker.
- Against the black joker: only the color joker, or the Ace of spades when its 5 card rule is on.
- If you can't pass it on, you take the whole stack and your turn ends. The next player then follows the suit or number of the attack card, or plays anything if it was a joker.
Tips for winning
- Save your attack cards. They are your shield when an attack comes your way.
- Attack when the next player is down to one or two cards. A big stack right before they finish turns the game around.
- Hold on to your 7s and switch to the suit you have the most of.
- Play a K when you have a follow up card so you shed two cards in one turn.
- Call One Card right away. The computer players are quick and will catch you.
One Card has no money, chips, betting or points at stake. It only ranks who finishes first. Your first place count, player count and rule settings are saved in this browser.
