What kind of game is Rope Cut Candy?
Rope Cut Candy is a physics puzzle where a candy hangs from ropes pinned to the ceiling, and you swipe across a rope to cut it so the candy drops into the open mouth of a little green jelly waiting below. The ropes sag and swing like real cord, and the candy obeys gravity, air drag and bouncy walls. Which rope you cut first, and at which instant, is the whole game.
A level usually lasts a few seconds, but collecting all three stars while landing the candy exactly in the mouth means picturing the arc the candy will draw before you cut. There are 30 levels, and hooks, balloons, air blowers, moving pins and spikes are added one at a time as you go. If you have played a cut the rope like game before, you will feel at home right away.
How do you clear a level, and how do you fail?
The candy touching the jelly's open mouth clears the level. Falling out of the bottom of the box or touching spikes fails it. Failing costs nothing and you can restart instantly.
| Situation | Result |
|---|---|
| Candy enters the jelly's mouth | Cleared. Your stars are saved and the next level opens |
| Candy passes through a star | One star collected, up to three per level |
| Candy falls out of the box | Failed. Retry |
| Candy touches spikes | Failed. Retry |
| Candy hits a wall or the ceiling | Small bounce, play continues |
| Candy with a balloon reaches the ceiling | It stays there until you pop the balloon |
Stars only count when the level is cleared. Grab all three and then drop the candy out of the box and that attempt is gone. The best star count for each level is kept, and the level select screen shows your total.
How do hooks, balloons, blowers, moving pins and spikes work?
Five gadgets appear one after another as the levels go on. Each is introduced in a level that can be solved with that gadget alone, so learn it there and the later mixed levels will feel fair.
| Gadget | Behaviour | First seen |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed pin | Where a rope hangs. Ropes never stretch, they only go slack | Level 1 |
| Hook | When the candy enters the red dashed circle, a new rope snaps on at that spot. Works once | Level 7 |
| Balloon | Attaches when the candy touches it and lifts the candy upward. Tap it to pop it and drop the candy | Level 10 |
| Air blower | Tap for a short gust out of the nozzle. Pushes a hanging candy into a swing or nudges a falling candy sideways | Level 13 |
| Moving pin | Slides back and forth on a rail. Where the pin is when you cut, and how fast the candy is being dragged, both matter | Level 16 |
| Spikes | Instant fail on touch. They block the straight drop and force a swing or a hook | Level 19 |
When should you cut to throw the candy the farthest?
Cut just after the candy passes the lowest point of its swing and starts to rise. At the bottom the speed is highest but purely horizontal; a moment later it gains an upward component and the arc stretches out.
To drop the candy almost straight down, cut at either end of the swing where the candy pauses for an instant. On a level with two ropes, cutting one makes the candy start swinging around the other, so if you want a clean vertical drop, swipe across both ropes in one stroke.
Tips for three stars
- Picture the arc before you cut. Stars almost always sit on the intended path. Find the order of cuts that swings the candy toward them.
- A slack rope is a safety belt. It catches the falling candy the moment it goes taut, and a new swing starts from there.
- Balloons are the only way up. When the jelly sits above the candy, float up and pop at the right moment; the pop timing decides where it lands.
- Blowers can be tapped repeatedly. Air works best on a slow hanging candy and only nudges a fast falling one.
- Fail fast, retry fast. A level takes seconds, so shift the cut timing a little each try instead of overthinking it.
How many levels are there and how do they unlock?
There are 30 levels, and clearing one unlocks the next. Your stars show under each number on the level select screen and go up whenever you beat your best.
Levels 1 to 6 use ropes only; hooks arrive at 7, balloons at 10, blowers at 13, moving pins at 16 and spikes at 19. From level 22 on, two or more gadgets share a level. Every level has a verified solution that clears it with all three stars.
