What is Be a Dog?
You play a border collie that wrecks things around the house without the owner noticing. Break every target item to clear the stage. If the owner sees you in the act, it's game over on the spot.
The house is a three-floor dollhouse cutaway: bedroom and study, living room and kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. The floors are joined by stairs, so the left and right keys alone take you everywhere. There are 100 stages. Targets grow from 2 to 8, and the owner gets faster and sees farther.
When do you get caught?
Walking around is fine. You only get caught if the owner sees you chewing something.
- Yellow beam: what the owner can see. Inside it, let go and sit.
- Noise: every item makes a different amount of noise. A plant or the TV brings the owner running at once; a toilet roll is quiet.
- RISK: goes up each time the owner finds something broken. It doesn't end the game, but the owner moves faster and sees farther, and from 3 the beam turns red.
What are wreck chains?
Breaking one item unlocks a new one. Chained items are not needed to clear a stage, but they are worth a lot of points.
- Knock over the plant → attack the vacuum the owner brings out → topple the TV
- Rip open a parcel → steal the cat's toy → the cat bolts and holds the owner up for a moment
Tips
- Do the loud ones while the owner is on another floor.
- Chew in parts. In later stages you can't finish an item in one go. Chew, sit, chew again: progress is kept.
- Watch the stairs. When the owner steps off the stairs, the beam fades in. Let go as soon as you see it filling.
- Stay clean for a bonus. The lower your RISK at the end, the more points you get.
Cleared stages are saved in this browser so you can pick up where you left off. Music and sound can be turned off with the buttons at the top right.
